U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, today applauded the SBA Office of Advocacy for holding a roundtable on the overregulation of small businesses in the premium cigar industry. 

“Small, family-owned businesses are the cornerstone of the premium cigar industry in Florida,” Rubio said. “Excessive regulation by the FDA is detrimental to the vitality and growth of small businesses in the historic cigar industry. I am pleased to see the SBA Office of Advocacy give small businesses a voice in the regulatory process and shed light on FDA’s burdensome effects on this iconic industry.”

The U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy will hold a roundtable to discuss the regulation of premium cigars beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019. The roundtable will be held in Washington, D.C., at the Small Business Administration headquarters, 409 3rd Street SW, Eisenhower Conference Room.
